Description

Village life in Bali is intricate and dense, the people live with their extended families and participate in a variety of interlinked social groups. It is easy to understand how gossip happens and how strong it can become.

This painting shows the figure in the center, who originates the gossip, and ends up being the victim of it. The people to the right and left of the main figure are portrayed in different shapes and colors, this is to differentiate them as individuals, with their own motives to elaborate and pass along the gossip they hear.
