Pedanda (High priest) baka is a Tantric story that is quite familiar to the Balinese. It is a story of a white heron disguised as a holy priest or pedanda. The heron fooled the fish in the pond by lying to them that people in the village would empty the pond. The heron moved the fish one by one to another pond, but actually ate them. This story is reinterpreted by Griyawan in a satirical tone. It is as if he is examining his struggle of transitioning into a new visual language.
